About Us

Dr. Revell’s experience with dentistry began at a very young age. He was born with only 12 permanent teeth, which led to a lot of bullying and self-consciousness as he grew up. But in the sixth grade, his orthodontist built him a retainer that included a full set of teeth. For the first time, Dr. Revell felt normal, confident, and proud of his appearance. And from that point on, he knew that he had to give that same feeling to others.

This passion persisted well after sixth grade. So after graduating from high school and going to the University of South Carolina for his undergraduate education, Dr. Revell attended dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. During his studies, Dr. Revell became interested in digital dentistry and was involved with several publications on the topic.

In order to pursue this interest further, Dr. Revell chose to participate in an internship at the MOD Institute after graduating with his dental degree. Here, he learned more about digital smile design, cosmetic dentistry, 3D printing, and many other cutting-edge technologies. At the MOD Institute, Dr. Revell also had the opportunity to give back to his community by providing complex restorative procedures to patients who would not otherwise have been able to afford treatment.

As the primary dentist at First Impressions Family Dentistry, Dr. Revell is living out the dreams he had as a child. He gets to combine his education, experience, and knowledge of advanced technology to transform smiles and change lives.

Outside of the office, Dr. Revell has lots of different interests. He loves listening to music, photography, and playing the upright bass. He was even a member of the South Carolina Symphony Orchestra in college! He also loves working out at the gym and taking his four-year-old Australian Shepherd, Hazel, on long walks around Kannapolis.

Once you’re greeted by our front office staff, you’ll fill out a few forms unless you already did so online. Then, you’re welcome to enjoy a free beverage while you wait for your visit with Dr. Revell.

When it’s time for your appointment, one of our dental team members will bring you back to an operating room. You’ll meet Dr. Revell, and he’ll perform an oral exam and take some X-ray images of your mouth.

Next, Dr. Revell will review your exam results and your X-rays to look for any oral health issues that may be affecting your teeth. If he finds any, he’ll discuss them with you, as well as the next steps he recommends to protect your oral health.

After this, one of our dental hygienists will perform a teeth cleaning to keep your teeth healthy and bright. They will scrape away plaque and tartar, polish your teeth, and floss to remove any remaining debris.

Finally, you’ll stop by our front desk before you leave to schedule your next checkup or any other necessary appointments. And that’s it! You’ll be sent home to enjoy your healthy smile.
